Festive, Healthy Holiday Appetizer Ideas

‘Tis the season for Christmas parties! Tonight we’re heading to the annual holiday get-together with the neighbors. It’s filled with fun things like ugly Christmas sweaters, white elephant gifts, and super delicious food {my favorite part}.

While I like digging into all of the cream cheese-based apps, salty snacks, and Christmas cookies and candy, it’s always nice to also have something healthy to munch on. You know, because healthy food cancels out any of the unhealthy food you eat, right? {ahem}

Since we just wrapped up a five-day detox {that will be we’ll be doing in January again, by the way!}, we have quite a few veggies in the fridge. So I thought we’d bring a veggie tray… with a twist!

Healthy Holiday Appetizer

Vegetable Tray Christmas Wreath

Arrange any green vegetables neatly on round plate. While you can pile them up any which way, I think it looks pretty to have them cut into sticks and arranged at the same angle.

  • Celery
  • Broccoli
  • Sweet Peapods
  • Green Pepper
  • Cucumber
  • Red Pepper {for the “bow”}
  • Cherry Tomatoes {for the “berries”}

Dill Dip

Mix the following ingredients together and place in a bowl in the center of the vegetable wreath:

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tbsp dried mined onion
  • 1 tbsp dried dill
  • 1 tbsp dried parsley
  • 1 tsp seasoned salt

It’s easy and healthy!
