Easy & Delicious Thanksgiving Recipes {Free Shopping List Printable}

We’re hosting Thanksgiving this year… for the first time {gulp}! It will be just my side of the family – and our family is pretty small, so I’m not too nervous. When it comes time to prep the turkey, those feelings might change, however. I figure that as long as we don’t leave the bag of turkey parts inside the turkey, it’ll be a win. Ha!

I’m on a mission to put together an easy-to-make but delicious traditional Thanksgiving menu. Thanksgiving is one meal that I don’t think you should get *too* creative with – I like the good ol’ favorites.

Whenever we are hosting a meal, I always turn to the trusty internet to research. I look for recipes that have as few ingredients as possible and have received good reviews. I also usually look for healthy recipes, but not for this day – Thanksgiving is a day to splurge!

Easy Thanksgiving Recipes

Turkey with Herbes de Provence and Citrus | Recipe

To be honest, I have no idea what Herbes de Provence are, but this recipe sounds tasty and has a 5 star rating with 300+ reviews. A video is also provided with the recipe which is helpful for a newbie like me!

Make Ahead Mashed Potatoes | Recipe

I know that mashed potatoes are easy, but I thought that this could be a side dish that I make ahead. One less thing to do on Turkey Day! Plus I like that baked mashed potatoes get a crunchy, golden top.

Make-Ahead Mashed Potatoes - these are amazing!

Green Bean Casserole | Recipe

I’m fairly certain that I’ve had the traditional green bean casserole for every Thanksgiving – you know, the kind with canned green beans and cream of mushroom soup. To be honest, I actually kind of like the stuff. However, I’ve had this recipe in the back of my mind for a few years now, ever since seeing it on the Pioneer Woman’s blog. I’m looking forward to trying it!

Streuseled Sweet Potato Casserole | Recipe

I love sweet potato casserole because it’s like having dessert for dinner. I do think that it can be too sweet. I chose this recipe because it doesn’t have as much sugar as some recipes I’ve seen and because it has a crunchy pecan topping.

Crockpot Stuffing | Recipe

To save room in the oven, I’m going to make a crockpot stuffing. I like this recipe because of the herbs that it includes, and the fact that it has sausage and apples. I might broil it in the oven just before serving to give it a crunchy crust.

Slow Cooker Stuffing, packed with sausage, apples and cranberries.

Cranberry Sauce | Recipe

While I don’t lurve cranberries, my mommalina {yeah, that’s what I call my mom} does. I picked this recipe because it has FOUR ingredients. Win! And it’s another item that can be made ahead!

Pumpkin Pie | Recipe

This recipe has 789 reviews and 5 stars and uses a pre-made pie dough, making it a win in my book.

In addition to these menu items, we’ll also have store bought lefse and wine. If you’d like to serve the same menu, download my Thankgiving shopping list and timeline.

Happy Thanksgiving!
